The European Commission has been looking at the restructuring process closely. A dedicated website on restructuring has been created, managed by DG Employment and Social Affairs. It provides information on employment and industrial and enterprise policy developments, EU legislation to manage corporate restructuring as well studies, reports and academic research, both from the Commission and from other public and private bodies.
Furthermore the European Commission set in place a Restructuring Forum in 2005. Based on work already done by existing organisations, the Forum's mission is to keep in regular touch with ongoing changes and to ensure that the various initiatives are properly dovetailed; this requires the participation of the Commission, the other European institutions, the social partners and outside specialists.
